چکیده

The interface-induced second-harmonic generation from ferroelectric hafnium–zirconium oxide (Hf0.5Zr0.5O2) epitaxial thin films, buffered with a La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 bottom electrode, is analyzed as function of input and output polarization angles the azimuthal angle sample for several film thicknesses. It shown that signal generated mainly buffer side interface, rather than side. However, affects significantly nonlinear optical properties underlying ferromagnetic electrode. Several mechanisms accounting these observations are discussed, oxygen migration, to an electrostatic effect, including possible modulation magnetization by upper film.

Crystallographic Mapping of Guided Nanowires by Second Harmonic Generation Polarimetry

The growth of horizontal nanowires (NWs) guided by epitaxial and graphoepitaxial relations with the substrate is becoming increasingly attractive owing to the possibility of controlling their position, direction, and crystallographic orientation. In guided NWs, as opposed to the extensively characterized vertically grown NWs, there is an increasing need for understanding the relation between st...

Observation of local-interfacial optical phonons at buried interfaces using time-resolved second-harmonic generation

We have used an all-optical technique to observe optical phonons localized at a buried interface. The technique is based on coherent excitation of the interfacial vibrational mode by femtosecond laser irradiation and detection of the free-induction decay of the coherent oscillation by time-resolved second-harmonic generation. For native oxide-covered GaAs ~100!, we observe a single-optical phon...

Optical second harmonic generation chiral spectroscopy.

Chiral spectroscopic study: The intensities of second harmonic generation chiral spectroscopy are obtained from the dispersion of the nonlinear optical susceptibility components, as a function of wavelength for helicenbisquinone thin films (see figure). A single formalism fits all the data simultaneously, and the findings constitute an important milestone towards the development of a new experi...

Second-harmonic optical spectroscopy on split-ring-resonator arrays.

Previous second-harmonic-generation experiments on metallic split-ring-resonator arrays have been performed at fixed fundamental laser center frequency. Here, we perform nonlinear optical spectroscopy on a first set of samples, revealing pronounced resonances. Furthermore, to clarify the role of higher-order split-ring resonances, we perform additional experiments on a second set of samples in ...

Second Harmonic Generation from Organic Optical Waveguides on Diffraction Gratings

We present experimental results of second harmonic generation using a waveguide of PUSC deposited on a silver diffraction grating. The reflected second harmonic signal is enhanced at the angles of resonant excitation of the guided modes or of the surface plasmon. At these angles, we observe unexpected minima in the second harmonic signal, when the second harmonic frequency is situated within th...
